Sculpting in clay is a slow process; you have to allow the clay to change completely at each stage. I create carefully framed and meticulously adorned ceramic portraits of women that allude to another era lost in time and space. These women, like the clay they are made of, have become fragile, strong, and ultimately immortal. Their faces belong in my dreams, yet their stories are slowly written by the collective imagination of those who set eyes on them. My portraits are a reflection of every woman who sees herself in the clay.
